Addressing Critical Challenges Faced by Nonprofits

The Center for Effective Philanthropy's (CEP) report, "State of Nonprofits 2023: What Funders Need to Know," sheds light on a critical challenge faced by nonprofit organizations today. According to the report, nearly half of the nonprofit leaders surveyed identified staff-related issues as their biggest hurdle, including burnout, hiring difficulties, retention struggles, inequitable salaries, and the need for raises. A notable leader expressed their concern, stating,

"Our growth and impact are also challenged by the difficulty in finding staffing with the level of experience and leadership needed to meet our organizational needs."

These findings resonate deeply with my 15+ year nonprofit career, during which I have encountered these challenges firsthand.
